Grandmaster Pravin Thipsay Meets Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai in Raipur, Receives Praise for Chess Achievements
Raipur, Chhattisgarh — Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today met Indian chess Grandmaster Pravin Mahadev Thipsay at his official residence in the state capital. During the courtesy call, the Chief Minister lauded Thipsay’s exceptional contributions to Indian chess, describing him as a source of pride for the nation and a role model for aspiring sportspersons.
The meeting was also attended by Chhattisgarh Olympic Association Secretary Vikram Sisodia along with other office bearers of the association. Acknowledging Thipsay’s remarkable sporting career, the Chief Minister said that achievers like him not only bring international recognition to India but also inspire the younger generation to pursue sports with dedication and passion.
Pravin Thipsay has been one of India’s most accomplished chess players, having earned the title of Grandmaster, becoming the first Indian to win the Commonwealth Chess Championship, and receiving the prestigious Arjuna Award for his excellence in the sport.
