CM Vishnu Dev Sai’s Surprise Visit to Jhurandi Village Wins Hearts
In an unexpected yet delightful turn of events, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai made a surprise visit to Jhurandi village in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district, leaving the villagers overjoyed and amazed. As his helicopter landed unannounced in the scorching afternoon heat, locals gathered in large numbers, forming a vibrant atmosphere akin to a celebration.
Under the shade of an ancient banyan tree, the Chief Minister hosted a community gathering, engaging with villagers in a warm and personal manner. The interaction saw an overwhelming response, with Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma accompanying him.
Addressing the gathering, CM Sai emphasized his commitment to reaching remote villages and ensuring government welfare schemes benefit every household. He instructed officials to swiftly address the villagers’ concerns and ensure timely implementation of development programs.

- Construction of High School and Higher Secondary School in Jhurandi
- ₹20 lakh allocated for CC road construction
- Two major bridges approved:
- ₹2.54 crore for Gadai-Kritbadha route
- ₹2.52 crore for Gadai-Karranala route at Limo
- New Panchayat Building for Bhorampur Gram Panchayat
Engaging with locals in Chhattisgarhi, CM Sai strengthened the emotional bond with the community, listening to their issues, suggestions, and firsthand experiences of government initiatives. Villagers wholeheartedly appreciated his humble and simple demeanor, with senior citizens remarking on the rarity of a Chief Minister personally visiting their village. Farmers and youth lauded his deep connection with grassroots realities.
Advancing Governance Through Public Engagement:
CM Sai underscored the importance of Su-Shasan Tihar, a campaign where ministers, MPs, MLAs, and local representatives actively assess ground realities. Having toured villages from Bastar to Surguja, he affirmed his commitment to ensuring effective implementation of welfare schemes.
Before departing, CM Sai offered prayers at the local Hanuman temple, seeking prosperity for the state’s residents. Former MLA Komal Janghel, District Panchayat President Priyanka Khamhan Tamrakar, and senior officials were present during the visit.
Jhurandi’s Development Progress:
With a population of 1,935, Jhurandi village boasts adequate health, education, electricity, and water facilities, along with Anganwadi centers. The local primary, secondary, and high school ensure quality education for children.
Under the PM Awas Yojana, 180 houses have been completed, with 37 under construction. Additionally, 616 women benefit from the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, while water supply is managed under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Employment generation remains strong through MGNREGA, and 17 self-help groups actively engage in livelihood initiatives.
