Dantewada Achieves Major Milestone in E-Governance with Land Record Digitization

Dantewada district has taken a significant leap forward in strengthening e-governance and ensuring swift service delivery to citizens by successfully digitizing all land records from 1920 to 1991. This achievement has transformed the process of accessing crucial documents, allowing residents to obtain copies of their records within minutes.

Previously, acquiring documents such as ownership records, B-1 forms, Form A, plot registers, nominations, and maps would take weeks. However, with the implementation of a digital system, these records can now be retrieved instantly at land record offices or kiosk centers using just the owner’s name and survey number. This development has proven to be a major relief, especially for rural communities residing in remote areas.

The revenue department’s initiative has not only enhanced security and preservation of records but has also resulted in significant savings in time, resources, and effort. Additionally, the transparency of the digital system has eliminated unauthorized alterations, ensuring that land records remain tamper-proof.

Recognizing this outstanding work in e-governance, Dantewada district has been nominated for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award. Recently, a delegation led by Under Secretaries Santosh Kumar and Rohtas Meena visited the district to evaluate the progress. The team was briefed by Collector Kunal Dudawat, who provided an in-depth overview of the digitization process and its impact. The visit also saw the participation of key officials including CEO of Zila Panchayat Jayant Nahata, Additional Collector Rajesh Patre, Tehsildar Vineet Singh, and Land Records Superintendent Govardhan Sahu.

This pioneering initiative marks a milestone in digital governance and is expected to serve as a model for other districts aiming to modernize land record management.
