Chhattisgarh Governor Commemorates Vinoba Bhave’s 129th Birth Anniversary, Emphasizes Land Rights and Donations
The 129th birth anniversary of the revered Saint Vinoba Bhave was commemorated through a profound discussion on land rights and land donation. The event, organized in collaboration with Vinoba Seva Sansthan, took place at Jaydev Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, bringing together luminaries to reflect on the enduring legacy of this remarkable figure.
Chhattisgarh Governor Shri Vishwabhushan Harichandan graced the occasion as the chief guest and inaugurated the program. In his address, he extolled the virtues of Acharya Vinoba Bhave, recognizing him as a unique revolutionary and a prominent leader of the Bhoodan movement. The Governor highlighted Vinoba Bhave’s unwavering commitment to serving the underprivileged and the homeless, emphasizing his exceptional patriotism, determination, and independent thinking.
Acharya Vinoba Bhave’s commitment to the welfare of society and his tireless efforts to eradicate poverty earned him a revered place in the annals of Indian history. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, he dedicated himself to national service and played a pivotal role in liberating the country from colonial rule. One of his most enduring contributions was through the Bhoodan movement, where he provided land and sustenance to thousands of landless individuals across the nation.
Through a remarkable journey on foot that traversed the length and breadth of the country, Vinoba Bhave facilitated the donation of millions of acres of irrigated land to those without access. His actions and unwavering commitment to social justice have cemented his legacy as a great revolutionary who championed the cause of the marginalized.
Governor Shri Harichandan emphasized that revolution, as exemplified by Vinoba Bhave, entails public awakening. He called upon the youth and every citizen to be cognizant of the rights of the impoverished and the oppressed, especially concerning land ownership. He expressed his hope that a revolution of awareness would emerge within society, bringing Vinoba’s dreams to fruition and inspiring the youth to follow his ideals.
