13.8 Kg Cannabis Seized in Chhattisgarh: Four Arrested in Cross-State Drug Trafficking Networ
In a major crackdown on illegal drug trafficking, Chhattisgarh Police arrested four accused involved in the supply and sale of cannabis (ganja) across state borders. The operation led to the seizure of 13.848 kilograms of cannabis, valued at ₹1,66,176, and exposed a supply chain extending from Odisha to Chhattisgarh.
The investigation began with the arrest of the first accused in Kumhari village, where police recovered a significant quantity of illegal cannabis. Through end-to-end intelligence gathering and chain-link analysis, the police identified and apprehended three more individuals connected to the trafficking network.

- Keshav Prasad Sahu (Age 31) – Resident of Kumhari, Lavan Police Station
- Ghanshyam Sahu (Age 37) – Resident of Bhairpur, Sankara, Mahasamund District
- Ronnu Naik (Age 19) – Resident of Jogimunda, Patnagarh, Balangir District, Odisha
- Amit Katle (Age 33) – Resident of Sambalpur, Nawagarh, Bemetara District
Among the arrested, Ronnu Naik was identified as a key supplier from Odisha, indicating a cross-border drug supply network. The police have initiated further investigation to trace the full extent of the distribution channel and its financial backers.
Authorities confirmed that the operation was part of a broader initiative to combat narcotics trafficking and organized crime in the region. The success of this operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to maintain public safety and dismantle drug networks operating across state lines.
