The recently declared results of JEE Mains 2025 brought remarkable success for students of Prayas Residential Schools, with 122 out of 371 students qualifying the exam. This achievement has sparked celebrations among families, communities, and villages, reinforcing the importance of quality education in remote regions.
Prayas Residential Schools, established under the Chief Minister’s Child Future Security Scheme, aim to provide talented students from Naxal-affected areas with quality education and training for competitive exams, ensuring access to professional institutions and stable career opportunities. Currently, 15 such schools are operational across the state, with approval granted for two new schools in Rajnandgaon and Balrampur for 2025-26, bringing the total to 17. The initiative has yielded impressive results over the years, with 122 students securing seats in IITs and equivalent institutions, 356 in NITs, 960 in other prestigious institutes, and 70 students admitted to MBBS programs.
Among this year’s JEE Mains qualifiers, Prayas Boys’ Residential School in Raipur led with 69 out of 153 students qualifying, achieving an outstanding success rate of approximately 45%. Other notable results include Prayas Ambikapur (16 qualifiers out of 44), Prayas Durg (12 out of 46), Prayas Kanker (8 out of 23), Prayas Jashpur (9 out of 38), Prayas Korba (1 out of 30), and Prayas Jagdalpur (7 out of 37).
For students from deeply affected regions, excelling in one of the country’s toughest competitive exams is a significant milestone. This year’s outstanding results indicate that approximately 122 students are poised for IIT and IIT preparatory admissions, marking another success for the initiative.
Congratulating the students on their achievements, Minister Ramvichar Netam, Principal Secretary Sonmani Bora, and Commissioner Dr. Saransh Mittar extended their best wishes for their future endeavors. Their success further solidifies the impact of Prayas Residential Schools in transforming the educational landscape for disadvantaged students and shaping a brighter future for Chhattisgarh’s youth.
