Chhattisgarh Budget 2025: CM Vishnu Deo Sai Unveils Vision for Accelerated Development and Inclusive Growth

Raipur, March 3, 2025 – Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today presented the state budget for the fiscal year 2025 in the Legislative Assembly, outlining a comprehensive roadmap for the state’s accelerated development. The budget, designed to address current needs while laying the foundation for a prosperous future, focuses on transforming Chhattisgarh into an industrial and IT hub while strengthening its agricultural economy.

In his address, CM Sai emphasized that the budget is aligned with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India. “We have set a clear goal to make Chhattisgarh a leading state in the country. This budget is a step towards achieving that goal by modernizing our economy and infrastructure,” he said.

Key Highlights of Chhattisgarh Budget 2025

  1. Agricultural Economy: The budget introduces innovative measures to revitalize the state’s agricultural sector, often referred to as the “Rice Bowl of India.” New irrigation projects worth ₹1,500 crore have been proposed, along with initiatives to connect rivers like Mahanadi-Indravati and Kodar-Sikasar.
  2. Industrial and IT Growth: To position Chhattisgarh as an industrial and IT hub, the government has allocated ₹700 crore for new industrial parks and a ₹700 crore subsidy support for startups and businesses. Additionally, 12 new engineering colleges and 12 polytechnic institutes will be established to meet the demands of the state’s new industrial policy.
  3. Infrastructure Development: The budget includes provisions for conducting a survey for the Raipur-Durg Metro service and significant investments in capital expenditure, which have been increased by 18% compared to the previous year, totaling over ₹26,000 crore.
  4. Human Resource Development: Recognizing the importance of skilled manpower, the budget allocates funds for new hospitals, modern schools, and adequate staffing in educational and healthcare institutions.
  5. Inclusive Growth: The budget continues to focus on the welfare of marginalized groups, including youth, farmers, women, and tribal communities. New schemes have been introduced to complement existing initiatives aimed at their holistic development.

A Tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee

CM Sai paid homage to former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the architect of Chhattisgarh, on his birth centenary year, celebrated as the “Atal Nirman Year.” He reiterated the government’s commitment to realizing Vajpayee’s dream of making Chhattisgarh a developed state.

Triple Engine Government’s Vision

The Chief Minister highlighted the role of the Triple Engine Government in driving the state’s progress. “Our focus is on good governance, rapid infrastructure development, increased use of technology, and accelerated industrial growth. This budget is a reflection of our commitment to these principles,” he said.
