Deputy CM Vijay Sharma Leads Republic Day Celebrations in Jagdalpur, Honors Martyrs and Excellence

Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh – Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma presided over the Republic Day celebrations at Lalbagh in Jagdalpur, marking the 76th year of India’s constitutional democracy. The event was a vibrant display of patriotism, cultural pride, and respect for the nation’s heroes.

The ceremony began with Deputy CM Sharma hoisting the national flag, followed by a salute to the parade comprising 14 contingents from the district police force, central paramilitary forces, home guards, and NCC cadets. Addressing the gathering in Halbi, a local tribal language, Sharma extended his Republic Day greetings and emphasized the importance of unity and progress.

Tribute to Martyrs and Honoring Excellence
In a heartfelt gesture, Deputy CM Sharma honored the families of martyred soldiers by presenting them with shawls and shrifal (coconut) as a mark of respect. He also read out the message of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, which highlighted the state’s achievements and future vision.

The event celebrated excellence across various fields. Outstanding officers and employees from different departments were awarded for their contributions. Winners of cultural performances, parades, and tableaus were also felicitated, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh.

A Grand Celebration
The skies of Jagdalpur lit up with colorful balloons, symbolizing joy and festivity. The parade, featuring disciplined contingents and vibrant cultural displays, captivated the audience. The event also included performances by school students, adding a touch of youthful energy to the celebrations.

Dignitaries and Distinguished Guests
The ceremony was attended by Padma Shri awardee Shri Dharmpal Saini, Commissioner Shri Doman Singh, Inspector General of Police Shri Sundarraj P, Chief Conservator of Forests Shri R.C. Dugga, and senior CRPF officials. Collector Shri Haris S., judges from the district and sessions court, and Chief Executive Officer of Jagdalpur Zila Panchayat Shri Prateek Jain were also present. A large number of citizens, schoolchildren, and government employees joined the celebrations, making it a memorable event.

A Message of Unity and Progress
Deputy CM Sharma reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of the people and the development of the state. “Republic Day is a reminder of our shared responsibility to uphold the values of our Constitution and work towards a prosperous future,” he said.
